My weekly medicine chart
Print it and stick it on the fridge, or save it as a PDF on your phone.
Getting the schedule right
- Methotrexate for arthritis is taken once a week — never daily. This chart will warn you if you try to enter it as daily.
- Folic acid is usually taken on a different day from methotrexate — follow how your doctor wrote it.
- Biologic injections are kept in the fridge (not the freezer). If you miss one, take it when you remember unless the next is close, then continue the schedule — never double up.
- If you have a fever or infection, hold immune-suppressing medicines and call your doctor before the next dose.

Common questions
Why is methotrexate only once a week?+
For arthritis, methotrexate is given as a single weekly dose. Taking the same dose every day is a known, serious medication error that can damage the bone marrow and liver. If you are ever unsure, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it.
Can I take folic acid on the same day as methotrexate?+
It is usually taken on a different day, but schedules vary — follow your prescription.
What if I miss a biologic injection?+
Take it when you remember unless the next one is close, then continue as scheduled. Do not take two at once. If unsure, ask your clinic.
